This is a new piece I created for a print exchange. 22 copies made, I think I have around 4 left. The title is "Gyventi ir Mirti", I'll let you figure out the actual translation. I'm going to try and slam out a print or two a week this summer, hopefully as good as this one or better.... This is a 6 color print done in 4 runs carved out of MDF on Rives BFK. Let me know what you think!
I was influenced by Mark Hosford's screenprints for this. Check out his work at http://www.nashvillescene.com/countrylife/archives/2012/03/01/marchs-artist-of-the-month-mark-hosford
Also influenced by Ashley Nason, and she was the one who got me going on these multi color prints, blends, and trans-base layers. http://www.ashleynason.com/3/artist.asp?ArtistID=32714&Akey=2D882FNT
My current work consists of an ongoing personal narrative told through a series of characters and scenes which are reactions, thoughts, and representations of real events in mine and my families life. While the characters used seldom have ties with the real visual world, they are strongly tied with actual occurrences and therapeutic interaction with my own work. The narratives are constructed using visual metaphors, ironic text, and personal symbols.
